The Importance of the Doctor/Assistant Professional Relationship
A symbiotic relationship between dentists and chairside staff members is a cornerstone of the successful practice. Our patients are hyperaware of our moods, our attitude toward one another, and the elegance at which their procedure is performed through an exchange of skilled hands. Countless times have patients complimented doctors that I have worked with, stating that the well-rehearsed and choreographed “dance” between dentist and assistant helped put their mind at ease and made their treatment a tolerable experience. An almost unspoken understanding of our craft, and a little finesse and flair, tied together with a mutual respect and admiration for one another’s skillset, creates a positive and healthy environment. Feel free to browse the following video choices and pay special attention to the calm yet confident exchange of energy between clinicians and the ever-present chairside dental assistant.
