Product Spotlight: BioTemps^® NOW SRC

When it comes to implant treatment, a provisional restoration has a big space to fill. It helps protect the site and support the surrounding soft tissue while also providing patients with an esthetic solution during the healing phase and while the final restoration is being fabricated. But for dentists, the provisional stage can also add extra steps, especially when working across different implant systems.

The upcoming BioTemps^® NOW SRC is designed to help. Created for single-unit temporary screw-retained crowns (SRCs), it provides clinicians a chairside-milled option without locking them into one implant platform. Instead of relying on a presintered or system-specific temporary solution, dentists can mill BioTemps NOW using the SRC indication in the fastdesign.io^™ software, and then cement it to the insert that matches the implant system they already use.

The restoration and access hole are milled chairside, helping reduce the amount of manual adjustment needed before delivery. Once the crown is milled, the clinician cements it to the appropriate insert and places the temporary SRC in the patient’s mouth.

With an estimated milling time of 10 minutes, the BioTemps NOW SRC gives clinicians a flexible way to create temporary screw-retained crowns in-office, making the provisional step faster and more convenient for the practice and the patient.

As a temporary material, BioTemps NOW offers a natural-looking appearance while providing the strength needed for provisional use. Since the milled BioTemps NOW SRC will be attached to a metal insert, cementation will require a material appropriate for bonding. The BioTemps NOW shade lineup includes the following: A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, C2 and BL bleach.
