Course Objectives

In part one of this course, Dr. Timothy Kosinski presents practical protocols for selecting and using both resorbable and non-resorbable sutures, along with hands-on demonstrations of various suturing techniques and their clinical applications in dental implant preparation. Learners will develop an understanding of predictable suturing knots and effective flap design to achieve optimal esthetics and healing outcomes.

  • Explain the different types of effective surgical knots and when to use each type.
  • Demonstrate proper flap design for ideal esthetics and healing.

Dr. Timothy Kosinski graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and received a Master of Science degree in biochemistry from Wayne State University School of Medicine. In addition to serving on the editorial review board of numerous dental journals, Dr. Kosinski has published over 180 articles and contributed to textbooks on the surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry. He is currently the editor of the Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry.
