Decrease in Bone Loss Around Glidewell HT Implants
A decrease in mean bone loss between years one and two indicates that some of the Glidewell HT Implants in the study actually gained in marginal bone.1
Clinical Studies
After reducing the bone and sequentially drilling the osteotomies using the multi-level surgical guide according to the approved digital treatment plan provided by Glidewell, six Glidewell HT™ Implants were placed in the exact positions needed to support an esthetic restoration.
After connecting the laser-labeled, pre-cut temporary cylinders to the implants and seating the prosthetic delivery guide, the immediate provisional was seated over the cylinders, and a pick-up procedure was performed to secure the cylinders within the prosthesis.
After completing the fabrication of the provisional implant prosthesis using the all-inclusive parts provided by Glidewell, the patient was extremely pleased to have implants placed and immediately loaded with a functional provisional restoration in one efficient appointment.
– Clinical dentistry by Taylor Manalili, DDS, DICOI
Digital treatment planning software was used to determine the implant position that would best support a functional, esthetic restoration at the edentulous space. The Glidewell HT Implant Guided Surgery System and a surgical guide were utilized to prepare the osteotomy with a flapless approach. A Glidewell HT Implant was seated through the guide, and soft tissue contours were optimized with a custom healing abutment. After the healing phase, a custom abutment and a BruxZir® Solid Zirconia crown were delivered with ease. The restorative-driven approach facilitated by guided surgery maximized predictability during each phase of treatment.
The patient sought a long-term solution for a retained primary tooth that was causing him significant esthetic concerns. Implant treatment was proposed and accepted by the patient.
The Glidewell HT Guided Surgery System was used to create the implant osteotomy in the exact location determined by the clinician-approved digital treatment plan.
The patient was extremely happy with the final restoration and the efficient, minimally invasive treatment protocol that helped ensure a predictable, esthetic outcome.
A case-specific surgical guide and plan were used to restore tooth #13 with a 3.5 x 10 mm Glidewell HT Implant.
The procedure was atraumatic and straightforward.
