The Simply Natural Digital Denture is utilized as the patient’s definitive denture and is fabricated after the hard and soft tissues have fully healed. A digital denture refers to a denture that is designed and fabricated using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D-printing technologies, as opposed to traditional methods such as light-cured urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) record base and conventional injection molding.
After traditional or digital impressions, the process involves CAD software to create the denture base and teeth set-up. The final product uses digital 3D-printing technology utilizing Glidewell’s proprietary denture resin, which demonstrates comparable flexural strength (96 MPa base and 110 MPa, teeth) and flexural modulus (2,953 MPa base and 2,785 MPa, teeth).
Digital dentures offer several benefits over traditional dentures, including increased precision, a faster and more efficient production process, and the ability to re-print the final design if a patient accidentally breaks their denture.
