In this course, Dr. Iyer discusses objective diagnostic criteria for identifying cases best suited for implant therapy and compares expected outcomes with conventional restorative treatment options. Participants will explore evidence-based prosthetic guidelines that support sound treatment planning, predictable execution, and long-term success. The program also reviews key biomechanical principles, including the indications for splinted versus free-standing implant restorations, helping clinicians make informed decisions that improve treatment predictability and outcomes.

Shankar Iyer, DDS, MDS

Dr. Shankar Iyer is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry, where he went on to serve as a clinical assistant professor of prosthodontics. Currently, he is Director of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) MaxiCourse® in UAE and India, and he holds two appointments in the periodontics and prosthodontics departments at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. A past president of the AAID, Dr. Iyer has taught and trained more than 5,000 dentists from around the world, and he has lectured in over 34 countries.
