Adhese® Universal VivaPen®
If Apple decided to move into dentistry and their goal was to improve how we store, dose and place bonding agent, I’m pretty sure their device would look a lot like the VivaPen®. The convenience of placing bonding agent directly from its source is a huge leap forward from disposable wells and microbrushes. With up to 190 applications per VivaPen, there is 67 percent less waste than with a conventional bottle because you’ll never put out more bonding agent than you need, only to find it evaporated when you go to use it. Adhese® Universal is a versatile, single-component, light-cured universal adhesive that works with self-etch, selective-etch and total-etch techniques for both direct and indirect restorations, and causes virtually no postoperative sensitivity. It can be stored at room temperature with no degradation to the bonding strength, so my assistant appreciates not having to run to the refrigerator ever time we need it. The VivaPen is refillable, and also comes with protective sleeves, since it is not disposable.
