Course Objectives

1 CE Credit

An accurate impression is fundamental for successful prosthesis fabrication in all aspects of dentistry, including implants. However, it is necessary to evaluate the surrounding teeth and soft tissue in relation to the implant position prior to taking the final impression. In this course, the clinical considerations regarding both hard and soft tissue preparation are discussed, and participants will learn how these fundamental clinical factors can affect the success of the final prosthesis. Upon completion of the course, participants will understand how to capture an accurate implant impression for the fabrication of a successful restoration.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify hard tissue factors that should be evaluated prior to capturing an impression
  • Demonstrate soft tissue conditions that can influence long-term stability
  • Compare provisional restorative options
  • Discuss both digital and analog implant impression techniques
