I discovered AlgiNot FS™ because of some problems we were having here at the laboratory. Dentists who pay attention to their crown and bridge impressions will often ignore the opposing impression and send us an unpoured alginate impression. The amount of distortion in the impression leads to inaccurate opposing models that wreak havoc with proper occlusion.

That got me to start experimenting with alginate replacement materials and I finally settled on AlgiNot FS. Besides being the best product name in dentistry, AlgiNot FS does not have to be poured immediately, which is great for working with an outside laboratory. Furthermore, it can be poured multiple times with the same accuracy, unlike any other alginate material.

And on those rare occasions when I am alone in an operatory and want a quick impression, I love being able to take an impression without having to mix alginate. It is hard to go back to alginate once you’ve tried AlgiNot FS.
