Redefining Flexible Partial Dentures

DIGITALLY DESIGNED, EXPERTLY 3D PRINTED

Thousands of dentists have found that flexible partial dentures are a useful treatment option for patients needing low-cost tooth replacement for the short or medium term. Now, the benefits of digital technology have combined with a proprietary flexible resin to introduce the new Simply Natural™ 3D Flexible Partial — a unique, digital, 3D-printed design that is engineered to deliver comfort, esthetics, and efficiency.

Since fabrication is fully digital, turnaround time is significantly reduced, allowing clinicians to provide faster, more predictable results with fewer adjustments. Each case is produced by Glidewell’s additive manufacturing team, which focuses on delivering high-quality oral appliances with consistency and speed.

A Fitting Material

As part of Glidewell’s expanding digitally focused solutions, this lightweight, metal-free appliance offers a natural feel and lifelike appearance that is particularly ideal for patients in need of an interim or transitional solution.

Designed and tested in collaboration with clinicians, the polymer material was evaluated across a broad range of patients and demonstrated outstanding comfort, fit, and adaptability. Its flexible, biocompatible composition makes it comfortable enough for everyday wear and reliable enough for use during implant integration or tissue healing phases.

From Scan To Finish

Every Simply Natural 3D Flexible Partial case starts with an intraoral digital scan submitted to the lab.

CAD/CAM Partial Design

A dental technician uploads the digital intraoral scan file and uses CAD/CAM software to precisely design the flexible partial.

The teeth and base are printed separately using Glidewell’s proprietary light-cured  resins: the teeth can be printed in one of fifteen VITA shades, and the gingiva in one of three shades.

The base and teeth are bonded together and cured to solidify the bond and maximize strength.

The appliance is then polished to provide its final glossy finish.

A Modern Option For Transitional Care

“These 3D-printed appliances are ideal for partial edentulism with a limited span,” said Dr. Danielle Brown, staff dentist at Glidewell, “And I often use them as a transitional solution when patients have had an extraction and are waiting for an implant to either be placed or integrated.”

“They are also an excellent temporary solution for esthetically driven patients, both young and old,” said Dr. Brown. “They’re comfortable, look great, and are made out of flexible material, so there’s no metal clasps.”

Simply Natural 3D Flexible Partials offer clinicians a new alternative in removable prosthetics, combining digital precision, rapid turnaround, and natural esthetics. The combination of Glidewell’s advanced 3D-printing technology and proven digital workflow creates a partial that is as flexible in function as it is secure in fit.
