To improve the fabrication process and provide better quality, the Glidewell Research & Development team developed an all-new proprietary resin for the 3D-printing of dentures. This advanced formulation produces precise, long-lasting esthetic dentures with a faster turnaround time than the traditional method.

The Glidewell family of Simply Natural™ Digital, Immediate and Copy dentures is made to serve as a reliable, long-lasting solution that patients and dentists can trust.

One of the key requirements for an esthetic denture is lifelike translucency. The Glidewell R&D team designed the new proprietary denture resin with a realistic level of translucency to better blend into the patient’s facial features and avoid the characteristic “plastic” look. 

Glidewell’s R&D team evaluated the structural integrity, mixing compositions, manufacturing methods and oral stability of existing denture base resins on the market. They then optimized the polymerization levels and times to facilitate a higher fracture resistance and higher overall strength. The flexural strength of the denture resin base is 96 MPa and 110 MPa for the resin teeth. The resin also boasts an impressive flexural modulus level of 2,953 MPa for the resin base and 2,785 MPa for the resin teeth. Despite the inherent strength of the material, there is always a risk of accidental damage or loss of the prosthesis. For this reason, digital designs are stored for five years, making it easy to order replacement dentures.

Delivered immediately following the removal of natural teeth, this process results in an appliance that is worn until healing is completed and a definitive prosthesis can be fabricated.

This highly esthetic, digitally designed solution is ideal for patients who want a high-strength, comfortable-fitting denture. Digital dentures are utilized as the patient’s definitive denture and are fabricated after the hard and soft tissues have fully healed. 

For patients with an existing denture, these copy dentures offer beautiful duplicate dentures that use the patient’s previous dentures as a reference.
