GLIDEWELL AND MISCH-RESNIK INSTITUTE EXTEND PARTNERSHIP

First instituted in 2016, the recently extended educational support agreement between Glidewell and the Misch International Implant Institute — now called the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute — continues their collaborative effort to extend continuing education opportunities to clinicians seeking to enhance their implant dentistry skills. Both Glidewell and the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute share the same philosophy of making implant treatment more accessible to practicing dentists.

“We’re pleased to continue to assist with the institute’s surgical and prosthetic programs, and to collaborate on innovative learning opportunities for dentists,” said Glidewell President and CEO Jim Glidewell. Together, Glidewell and the institute have collaborated on several continuing education programs designed to provide dentists with the most current and practical information available on the surgical, restorative and maintenance phases of implant dentistry.

The partnership also marks the continuation of the institute’s use of the Hahn™ Tapered Implant as its official implant for all courses and curriculum.

“We are happy to continue our educational collaboration with the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute, and honored that the Hahn Tapered Implant continues to be the institute’s official implant system,” said Dr. Neil Park, vice president of clinical affairs at Glidewell.

With a 99.2% success rate, a simplified surgical protocol and a design that establishes excellent primary stability,1 the Hahn Tapered Implant is engineered to meet the requirements of modern dentistry — making it a fitting official implant for the institute.

“The partnership has been unbelievably successful because Glidewell’s vision and passion for continuing education is closely aligned with the Misch Institute,” said Dr. Randolph Resnik, director of the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute. “I am very excited to continue the relationship with Glidewell, as this will continue to allow the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute to be elevated to higher levels and remain at the forefront of dental implant education.”

MISCH-RESNIK INSTITUTE CONTINUES LEGACY OF SUPERIOR IMPLANT TRAINING

The newly renamed Misch-Resnik Implant Institute recently conducted this year’s first surgical session of its world-renowned surgical continuum. The first of five courses in the continuum, the S1 session took place over a two-day period near Dallas, Texas, where a record 92 doctors gathered — the largest number of attendees for a course in the institute’s history.

For those who attended, it was clear that the institute is stronger than ever, and the event served as a testament to Misch-Resnik Implant Institute Director Dr. Randolph Resnik’s commitment to the ideals of the late Dr. Carl Misch.

“After more than 30 years of trusted implant education, it was exciting to see the Misch-Resnik Institute more successful than ever,” said Dr. Neil Park, vice president of clinical affairs at Glidewell. “It’s clear that the institute continues to update its curriculum and laboratory exercises, and has revitalized its program to reflect the continued evolution of dental implant treatment.”

Attendees received practical, hands-on education to help build confidence in teeth extractions, treatment planning, implant placement, and more.

Over the program’s two days, Dr. Resnik lectured on everything from atraumatic extraction and socket grafting, to CBCT treatment planning and implant placement procedures, making it a comprehensive start to the new surgical session program. Attendees were also given access to expanded labs providing hands-on training, including pig jaw and implant placement labs. On day two, attendees were invited to bring in their own cases for treatment planning advice. More than 70 cases were brought in by clinicians seeking expert advice from the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute’s dedicated faculty.

After more than 30 years of service to the dental community, the Misch-Resnik Implant Institute is still the benchmark for implant education. The S1 session showcased the institute’s continued adherence to Misch’s superior legacy of research-based implant training and Dr. Resnik’s promise to provide clinicians with the best educational resources to advance their practices.

GLIDEWELL AND THE NYCDS TEAM UP TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS

GLIDEWELL AND THE NYCDS TEAM UP TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS

In early 2021, Glidewell and the New York County Dental Society (NYCDS) teamed up to help dentists improve clinical outcomes and contribute to practice growth. Through a series of five online courses presented via the free Glidewell Online Study Club, the program offered dentists an opportunity to learn more about crown & bridge techniques, use of occlusal guards, tooth extractions and socket grafting — which were some of the most requested topics among attendees. Those who completed the weekly series received a total of five CEUs.

The success of the courses attended by over 2,850 clinicians was achieved through one common goal shared by Glidewell and the NYCDS: to provide dentists with continuing education content based on real clinician feedback.

“Glidewell helped us accomplish this goal by doing the research,” said Dr. Lois Jackson, president of the NYCDS. “There is such an abundance of online content available to clinicians these days, but it’s apparent that Glidewell is sensitive to providing the content that clinicians personally request the most.”

The positive feedback from these courses additionally points to the importance of having a healthy partnership. Glidewell and the NYCDS share the common goal of helping dentists provide better patient treatment. The success of this series demonstrates how effective a partnership can be when both parties want their attendees to enhance their clinical skills and add new services to their practices.

“We were pleased to partner with Glidewell to deliver an outstanding educational series for our members,” said Dr. Jackson. “We appreciate their vast experience in providing hundreds of webinars and online CE courses for thousands of dentists, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them in order to meet the needs of our members and clinicians everywhere.”
